Library Levy Renewal
In 2013, Spokane Citizens passed a levy lid lift to ensure the Spokane Public Library continues to deliver the quality library service the community has come to expect. As a result the Spokane Public Library saw an increase of customers coming through our doors and an increase in utilization of library computers and WIFI.
We’re proposing a renewal of the levy lid lift for a duration of seven years.
What does the Library Levy Renewal impact? If the levy passes, the library will:
• Continue expanded hours at East Side, Hillyard, and Indian Trail
• Maintain Sunday hours at Shadle
• Add Sunday hours at South Hill
• Continue to provide expanded reading and learning programs for pre-kindergarteners, students, and adults
• Continue the expanded purchase of books, eBooks, and other resources
• Provide more equitable library and technology access city-wide

Get to Know Your Shadle Staff
Hello, I am Juan Juan, Library Assistant at Shadle. You can find me roaming the branch assisting customers with reference inquiries and technical help. I especially enjoy my Sunday shift and I would love it if you would come and say hello the next time you visit the library.
When I am not at work, I garden, raise chickens, hike and spend a lot of time listening to music.
Shadle’s New Creation Station
The new Creation Station has officially taken the place of the Reference and Information Desk at the Shadle Library. Utilize industry standard creative tools at iMac computers such as the Adobe Suite Master Collection, iMovie, and more. From large projects to small, the Creation Station is a perfect place to get started on your next innovative endeavor.
Be sure to stop by Shadle’s Creation Station and ask a staff member to get started.
